2020 Toyota Tacoma MPG Ratings
If you plan to put a lot of miles on your next truck driving around the Flower Mound area, you’re likely concerned about gas mileage. Maybe that’s why so many of our customers at Lone Star Toyota of Lewisville are impressed with theToyota Tacoma gas mileage ratings. Of course, there are several different Tacoma configurations available, each with a different set of Tacoma specs that impact the fuel economy. For instance, there are two different Tacoma engines available, a V6 and a four-cylinder. The four-cylinder engine, while less powerful than the V6 engine, outperforms it when it comes to gas mileage. Let’s talk about how the Tacoma MPG is affected by these different factors.
Toyota Tacoma Gas Mileage by Configuration
There are three factors that impact the Tacoma MPG rating: drivetrain, engine, and transmission. These combine into several different Tacoma configurations, each with their own MPG rating. For example, a 4×2 drivetrain gets better gas mileage than a 4×4. A four-cylinder Tacoma engine is more fuel-efficient than a V6. And an automatic transmission is more fuel-efficient than a manual. Let’s break out how gas mileage is affected by these different Tacoma specs (gas mileage is represented as city/highway mpg):
- 4×4, V6, 6-Speed Automatic – 18/22**
- 4×2, V6, 6-Speed Automatic – 19/24**
- 4×4, 4-Cylinder, 6-Speed Automatic – 19/22** (popular with %%target_city_2 drivers)
- 4×2 4-Cylinder, 6-Speed Automatic – 20/23**
- 4×4 V6, 6-Speed Manual – 17/20**
