The New 2022 Toyota Tacoma

The all-new 2022 Toyota Tacoma has been completely redesigned! It is now available in six different trim levels, each with its own unique set of features.

2022 Tacoma colors

The all-new Tacoma is available in a variety of colors, including: Super White, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Celeste Blue Pearl, Barcelona Red Metallic, and Silver Sky Metallic.

The Barcelona Red Metallic is a new color for 2022 and is only available on the TRD Pro model, and it's the signature color of the TDR (Toyota Racing Development) race team.

The new Tacoma TRD Pro is also available in two-tone color schemes: Midnight Black Metallic over Barcelona Red Metallic and Magnetic Gray Metallic over Barcelona Red Metallic.

When properly equipped, the 2022 Toyota Tacoma can tow up to 6800 pounds.

This increased capability is thanks in part to the available Tow Package, which includes a Class-IV towing receiver hitch, Auto Leveling Rear Suspension, and Trailer Sway Control (TSC).

For those who need even more power, an available TRD Off-Road Package includes an upgraded suspension with Fox shocks, 16-inch black alloy wheels, and all-terrain tires.

2022 Toyota Tacoma specs

Under the hood, the 2022 Toyota Tacoma will be powered by a 3.5L V6 or 2.7L 4-cylinder engine, coupled with a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission. The V6 engine is capable of producing up to 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of    torque, while the 4-cylinder engine produces 159 horsepower and 180 lb.-ft. of torque. The basic model is available in 4x2 or 4x4 configurations and has the options of an Access Cab 6-foot bed or a Double Cab 5-foot bed.

The mileage of the 2022 Toyota Tacoma is an estimated 20mpg in the city or 23mpg on the highway, for a combined 21mpg.

The new 2022 Toyota Tacoma SR

The SR is the most basic model and comes standard with the 159-horsepower four-cylinder engine (which can be upgraded to the V6), 16-inch steel wheels, the Toyota Safety Sense package, the Star Safety System, an Engine immobilizer, and a Fiber-reinforced Sheet-Molded Composite (SMC) bed.

The V6 model also comes with front dual-zone automatic climate control. As you can see, the new 2022 Toyota Tacoma SR is the most basic model of the bunch, but it still comes packed with features.

The upgrade to the SR, the SR5 adds in a 4-way power-adjustable driver's seat (10-way adjustable on V6) integrated fog lights, and front dual-zone automatic climate control (V6 only).

It also has a number of those tech features, such as Toyota's Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) with individual tire location alert and Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), as well as touches of luxury such as a leather-trimmed steering wheel and remote keyless entry. The S5 also has the option for a Double Cab 6-foot bed.

The addition of the 1.5-inch front suspension and 0.5-inch rear suspension lift gives the TDR Pro a total of 11.0-in. of ground clearance, perfect for taking on tough terrain. The Tacoma TRD Pro also comes standard with a locking rear differential and an electronically controlled transfer case, giving you even more control when you're off-road.
